Wimbledon & Lords trips for sporty students

Students from the Wey Valley School visited London on school trips to see top tennis stars in action during week 2 of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and County Championship cricket between Middlesex and Warwickshire.

Mr Heath, PE teacher at Wey Valley and trip organiser confirmed two fantastic trips with all students having a great time and the opportunity to tour both world famous sporting venues and to see close up, some of the game’s greatest sport stars.

Mr Heath added, ‘with exceptionally hot weather during both visits, students equipped themselves well and thoroughly enjoyed the round of 16 tennis matches on Court 2 and surrounding courts.   During the Lords trip, students were able to tour the ground, take to seats in the Grand stand or Compton stand, meet players for autographs and witness over 300 runs and 12 wickets in an enthralling day’s play’.
