Free Tennis and chance to test out the latest rackets!

To celebrate a successful tennis season and the Wimbledon Championships, the Wey Valley Tennis Centre in Weymouth will be hosting an InterSport ‘play and test’ event on Friday 15th July at 5pm.

Ryan Matthews, Tennis Liaison Officer at Wey Valley said: “we are really pleased that InterSport Tony Pryce from Weymouth will be visiting the Tennis Centre. We have had some good interest already with court times still available”.

Tennis players are invited to book free courts on-line at and then the option to try the latest rackets, test the latest technology and test against the speed gun!

The tennis centre has proved popular this season with over 170 players registered online to book courts.  Ryan added: “with the new season fast approaching, we are delighted to announce that court fees will be frozen at £10 per court hour and £8 at off-peak times”. 

The centre, which hosts a comprehensive tennis coaching programme, led by Julien Lawes and his team, is also the home for regional and local LTA tournaments, charity events, pay and play bookings and the Weymouth and Portland Table tennis league.

The Tennis Centre will be hosting the Great British Tennis weekend on the 16th July as part of the Lawn Tennis Association’s drive to promote tennis across the country.  The Centre will be providing Cardio Tennis and Junior coaching in the morning and Open free play from 12- 4pm, all bookable online or players can come to the Centre and register on the day
