Dance Show

The annual Dance Show at the Wey Valley School was performed to a packed audience in the Will Mackaness Hall.

Nearly 100 students were involved from all year groups at the evening performance. The 'Last Dance Show' for the Year 11 students was a finale for all their exam work plus a celebration of all things ‘dance’ that takes place in lessons and after school clubs.

Mrs Ashmore, Head of Performing Arts said: “ 'The Last Dance Show' proved to be an outstanding success. The evening provided the opportunity for our young dancers to present their work to an audience, ranging from clubs to class and exam work, and they did so with utmost dedication, focus and professionalism. It was a fantastic example of our students displaying our cooperative principals of solidarity and ethical values, as well as their passion for dance”.

Mrs Ashmore added: “I would like to thank Steve Hooper our media manager along with students Harry Pavey and Ben Parker who did a fantastic job with the sound and lighting for the show.

Kelly Damen in year 11 said: 'It was an amazing experience, confidence boosting and great fun.'

Ashleigh Lewis, also in year 11 said: 'It has brought us closer together and left us with loads of fun memories. I wish we could experience it all over again.'

Mrs Diane Day, Chair of Governors at Wey Valley who attended the Dance Show said: “I would like to congratulate our students on an outstanding Dance Show. The school prides itself on a fantastic Performing Arts Department and the Show once again has brought out the best in our students with some memorable performances.”
