Art exhibition celebrates student work

The Art Department at the Wey Valley School held its Annual Exhibition in the school conference room to the delight of parents, guests, staff, governors and students with some outstanding art and graphic works on display.

Alison Moore, joint Head of Art at The Wey Valley School said, ‘Our team was delighted to welcome so many visitors to the exhibition and to show off the exceptionally high standard of art work. There was a great buzz in the exhibition, to see such a variety of exhibits on show.’

Mrs Moore added, ‘We had work from students who had created outcomes in art, photography, graphics, resistant materials, textiles and electronics. There were fantastic examples from all areas with particular input from those students who had taken a double option in the arts and had a mountain of work with fabulous outcomes.’

Since the celebration evening, the school has invited students across the school to visit the exhibition as a learning resource, learning more about the requirements and potential of the Art GCSE courses on offer.

Ms Sara Adams, Principal at The Wey Valley School paid tribute to the Year 11 students and the Art Department, ‘It has been a real success and one which we hope to continue for future Year 11 students. The feedback from parents and guests during the evening has been fantastic and a real showcase of our student’s artistic talents.’
