3rd Annual Wey Valley Hamper Appeal

3rd Annual Wey Valley Hamper Appeal

Students and staff at the Wey Valley School have once again shown outstanding generosity with the annual Christmas Hamper Appeal by producing over 50 hampers packed full of a feast of festive goodies.

A student group visited a number of ladies and gentlemen at the Acorns Day Centre in Weymouth and Age UK in Dorchester to deliver the hampers and an opportunity to sit and chat to the residents and wish them all a very Merry Christmas.

Mrs Eileen Harding, Learning Resources Centre Manager and Miss Marie Claridge, Head of PE co-ordinated the appeal and thanked students and their families as well as staff for their kind donations

Mrs Harding added, ‘The appeal, currently in its third year, goes from strength-to-strength with all students contributing hamper essentials as well as more luxury items which will make a difference to those in need in our community’

Miss Claridge also confirmed additional donations within the community, ‘This year we were also able to donate items to the local food bank at the Baptist Church in Weymouth’.

Miss Claridge added, ‘Our students were an absolute credit to the school and the local community and the time spent at the Acorns Day Centre was well received by all’.
